The Wabamun Watershed Management Council members represent a diversity of perspectives, jurisdictional authorities and organizations active within the Lake Wabamun watershed based on affiliations within five broad sectors:
- watershed resident
- government (one First Nation/Metis seat currently vacant)
- non-government organization (one environment NGO seat currently vacant)
- industry/business (two industry/business & one agriculture seat currently vacant)
- members-at-large (three seats currently vacant)
Each member is responsible for establishing a process for communication within his or her respective affiliation, so that they can represent the broader interests of that group as well as themselves. Terms are for two year durations, with no member serving more than two consecutive terms.
Replacement of membership will occur on an annual basis. At the discretion of Council members, vacant seats may be filled throughout the year as required to replace departing members.
The WWMC is currently seeking representation from the following sectors: First Nation/Metis (one seat), NGO Environmental (one seat), Business/Industry (two seats), Agriculture (one seat) and Members-at-Large (three seats). For more information please review the following documents:
