Wildlife Point Riparian Health and Bioengineering Workshop
Saturday, May 9 | 10 a.m.–4 p.m.
Meet near Township Road 532, Fallis (details provided to registered attendees)

This free, hands-on workshop will explore how healthy riparian areas protect water quality and shoreline health. Participants will learn the fundamentals of soil bioengineering, tour a healthy lakeshore site, and gain practical experience harvesting and installing willows and other native shrubs. This is a wonderful opportunity for landowners, lake users, and community members interested in sustainable shoreline restoration.

WWMC Summer Speaker Series Launch

We are launching a new Summer Speaker Series to encourage meaningful community dialogue on watershed issues. We are pleased to welcome Dr. Debra Davidson as our inaugural speaker. Dr. Davidson is a nationally recognized scholar whose work focuses on climate change impacts, adaptation, energy transitions, and the social dimensions of environmental change. Her presentation will explore what a changing climate means for Wabamun Lake and its watershed, helping connect global trends with local stewardship actions during a time of prolonged drought, declining lake levels, and increasing environmental pressures.


WWMC 20th Anniversary Stewardship BBQ

Wabamun Waterfront Park

Join us as we celebrate 20 years of collaborative watershed stewardship with a fun, family-friendly community event. The day will feature a welcome from WWMC, a guest speaker on invasive species, a community BBQ, and youth beach activities delivered with valued partners, including Alberta Lake Management Society, North Saskatchewan Watershed Alliance, and others. This special event will celebrate our shared history, strengthen partnerships, and inspire continued stewardship for future generations.

WWMC Meetings

Note: For the foreseeable future, the WWMC will be holding its meetings online via Zoom. If you are not a board member but wish to raise an issue with the board, please contact us (info@wwmc.ca).

The Wabamun Watershed Management Council (WWMC) regularly meets on the third Wednesday of each month. Prior to the pandemic it met at the following address from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. However, meeting dates and locations sometimes varied.
