A study to determine the effects of the Ash Lagoon discharge on the north shore and the Wabamun Lake Water Treatment Plant discharge on the south shore was commissioned in the fall of 2002. The objective of the study was to determine if these two discharges have had an impact on the benthic invertebrate distribution in the immediate vicinity of the discharges.
